Jose Lucena Jr. is a distinguished U.S. Marine Corps Veteran, entrepreneur, and community organizer with over three decades of versatile leadership experience. Throughout a multifaceted career spanning the military, corporate management, hospitality, and civic advocacy, he has consistently driven operational excellence and championed strategic growth.

Jose’s leadership foundation was forged in the United States Marine Corps, where he mastered the principles of discipline, strategic planning, and resilient command. Transitioning his military expertise to the private sector, he excelled in the fast-paced hospitality industry and corporate world, mastering lean innovation, business management, and organizational scaling to build and optimize successful enterprises. As an entrepreneur and a Licensed Massage Therapist, he established a thriving mobile massage therapy practice, blending professional specialized care with client relations and business management.

Dedicated to Tampa's Tomorrow

Deeply committed to public service and community stewardship, Jose has spent the last ten years as a dedicated community organizer and civic leader in Tampa, Florida. He actively shapes local governance and community development as the Vice President of the Executive Board of Directors for The Oaks at Riverview Community Master Association. A passionate advocate for fellow service members and underrepresented groups, Jose also serves as the President of the Veterans Caucus, where he dedicates his leadership to organizing major civic events, advising on policy, and advocating fiercely for marginalized communities. In addition, he serves as the Hispanic Outreach Chair for the Hillsborough County LGBTQ+ Caucus, helping strengthen relations with the Latino communities, expand civic engagement, and ensure diverse voices are represented in local advocacy.

Combining an elite military background, robust corporate and entrepreneurial acumen, and a proven track record of grassroots advocacy, Jose continues to leverage data-driven metrics and collaborative leadership to empower communities and inspire meaningful structural impact.
